Marty & Tammy Norton published their first Hometown Phone Book for Collinsville, IL in 1995. Hometown’s concept was to publish a smaller handy size local phone book with large bold print in the white pages and yellow page advertising rates 40-60% less than the other phone books in the market. Their idea for this new style of phone book was well received by the Collinsville area businesses & residents. The word spread and in just four years there were 15 Hometown Phone Books in Southwestern Illinois, just across the river from St. Louis. By 2007, Hometown had opened sales offices in Paducah Kentucky, Springfield and Marion Illinois and had grown to publishing 26 different Hometown Phone Books with over 6,000 customers.

The success of Hometown Phone Books comes from a combination of hard work by dedicated employees and family members. Hometown also delivers a top notch product using the U.S. Post Office and has partnering with local businesses such as Breese Printing, a fourth generation printing company, that has been printing the Hometown Phone Books for over 15 years.

The story could have ended there, however, Marty and Tammy envisioned more for their growing company. In 2010 their customers will be able to distribute magnets, calendars and direct mail flyers through Hometown’s direct mail delivery. Their sales reps have begun training to become media consultants for their customers. Marty & Tammy want Hometown Media Solutions to be the answer for all their customers’ media needs.
